Manager
up to £42k per year*

About Us:
Chattaway Inns Ltd operates some of the area’s most-loved pubs and restaurants, including The Farmers Arms (Ulverston), The Rose & Crown (Ulverston), and The Farmers Baycliff. We take pride in creating welcoming, high-quality experiences for our guests, where great food, drinks, and atmosphere come first.

The Role:
We’re looking for a pragmatic Manager to take full ownership of one of our venues. You’ll be the person behind the smooth operation of the entire venue, ensuring every shift, service, and team member works in harmony. With support from your office team, staff, and our loyal customers, it will ultimately be down to you to run a venue while keeping the exceptional experiences our guests have come to expect.

This is a key time to join us – we’re boosting our management teams ahead of the busy Christmas season and supporting company growth, so there’s huge opportunity to make an impact.

What We Need From You:

  • Lead by example and inspire your team to deliver outstanding service
  • Take full ownership of all venue operations – front-of-house, food, drinks, stock, deliveries, and cleanliness
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times, ensuring the wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, and guests
  • Handle staffing, recruitment, rotas, and training with confidence
  • Drive sales, manage budgets, and maintain profitability
  • Be hands-on – this is hospitality, there’s no easy ride, and you should be ready to roll your sleeves up
  • Work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays – not all the time, but most of them. Hospitality isn’t a 9-5 office job; we need someone who understands that & thrives!

Assistant Manager
up to £35k per year*

We take pride in creating welcoming, high-quality experiences for our guests, where great food, drinks, and atmosphere come first.

The Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on, no-nonsense Assistant Manager to be second-in-command at one of our venues. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to run the venue smoothly and make sure everything ticks along beautifully – from training and inspiring your team, to handling daily operations, deliveries, ordering, and cleanliness.

This is a key time to join us – we’re boosting our management teams ahead of the busy Christmas season and to support company growth, so there’s huge opportunity to make an impact.

What We Need From You:

  • Lead by example and inspire your team
  • Be tough when it’s needed, fair when it counts, and never shy away from the hard work
  • Take ownership of daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, food, and drink
  • Assist with staff training, rota planning, and motivating the team
  • Handle deliveries, stock, and ordering efficiently
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times, ensuring the wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, and guests
  • Keep the venue clean, organised, and running safely
  • Be hands-on – this is hospitality, there’s no easy ride
  • Work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays – not all the time, but most of them. Hospitality isn’t a 9–5 office job; we need someone who understands that
