About The Farmers Baycliff

The Farmers Baycliff

Historically our lovely little pub dates back to 1849 when the local area was known as The Manor of Muchland, seat of the Lords of Aldingham. What a great title!

It originally changed hands back then for the princely sum of £237 – not quite what it was purchased for in 2006 when we bought it.

A great little historical country Inn in a lovely village next to the coast, overlooking Morecambe Bay. We are part of 4 generations of Innkeepers and totally independent, providing great food and the best real ales- all locally produced – Cumbria’s Finest!

The pub itself offers a roaring fire all winter, cosy atmosphere and friendly welcoming staff, as well as a spacious beer garden overlooking the countryside.

We are close to many local attractions :

Conishead Priory (Manjushri Meditation Centre)

Ulverston Golf Course

Piel Island

Beach walks

Country walks

Birkrigg Common- The Druids Stone Circle

Dalton WildLife Park

Ulverston itself is a 10 minute drive or an hours walk

The Lake District only half an hour away.

We have a great little pub in a pretty village, soon to be offering top quality accommodation above for short stays- whats not to like?!

We offer AA 4 Star self catering accommodation and en-suite rooms, all of which are situated in the heart of the busy market and festival town of Ulverston, therefor handy for everything. All our accommodation is tastefully decorated to the highest standard.
